I just got a 5 gallon kit

I started my first brew a couple days ago with a Mr Beer kit. The thread is right under this one currently lol

I got everything done and slapped on the lid. When should the bubbler start bubbling?

That's why I wanted to swish it around. To distribute the yeast around more

I took a small sample from the built in tap and it smells amazing and it tastes good with no off flavors

It has holes under the lid for it to escape. I found that out when I was cleaning it and turned it upside down and got hot !@# water all over myself lol

lol that's what I hear It went well. Everything was cleaned very well(hopefully lol) One thing I didn't know that it will almost always boil over at the start though. It's called Wyeast

That is pretty high for a wheat. Should I tone down the honey or will it be noticeable at 6.3%?

Will that make it taste too hoppy? I want it to be like an American wheat or hefeweisen type style

I'm going to do something like this recipe, 0.4lbs. I haven't measured it out yet so I don't know how many cups yet

1oz mt hood hop pellets
2oz of this activator

First brew tonight

Hey guys! Cool place you've got here

I'm starting my first brew tonight. A honey wheat :) The guy at the brew shop told me to put half the hop pellets in 30 minutes in and then the rest at the final 60 min mark

Why is this?
