Irish Moss Question

I had a quick question about adding irish moss. I am only brewing a half batch (2.5 gallons) and I bought some irish moss. I couldn't find any info on how much to use on the package so I thought I would ask here. Any ideas? Thanks.

Half Batch Steep Times

Hey everyone. I had a question about steeping crystal malt while making a 2.5 gallon batch of beer. How long should I steep the grains? Should I go for 30 minutes like normal? Thanks.

Brewing a half batch

Hey everyone. I haven't brewed in a while but decided I would like to brew a half batch, or about 3 gallons. I used the recipe generator to find make a decent looking full extract recipe. My main question is if there is anything i need to do differently with a half batch. Is the increased distance b...

High fermentation temp in the very beginning

Hey everyone. I just made a batch of Kolsch yesterday and put it in my brew fridge, set my temp controller to 70 and left it for 24 hours. I checked today and my beer is at 74 degrees. So basically its been in the mid seventies for around 24 hours. I lowered the temp on my fridge but am wondering, d...

Well, after finally cooling down in my fridge, the wort was in the bucket for about 6 hours with the lid on it. Should I be worried? My sanitation was really thorough, so I don't know what the risks could be. Thanks.

Had to wait to pitch yeast

Hey everyone. I made my batch about 4 hours ago, but I pulled my wort chiller way to early. I haven't been able to pitch my yeast because the temp is still about 90-100. I put the wort in my bucket and put the lid and airlock on as soon I pulled the chiller, so I don't know what the risk of contamin...

Question on full batch extract brewing

Hey everyone, just a quick question. I just got a 30 quart pot that I want to do a full batch boil in. Has anybody else had experience with doing a 6 gallon boil in a 7.5 gallon pot? I'd rather know now if I'm going to have a hell of a time with it up front. Thanks.

Two quick yeast starter questions

Hey everyone, I have two quick questions. First, I made a yeast starter last night and I sanitized everything before using it, except I didn't sanitize the yeast pouch or scissors. Is this really necessary or is it just playing it safe? Also, can I use my starter after 20 hours, or is there a time f...
