UV sterilizer

the UV oven idea was to store frequently used items while in the brewing proccess. spoons, racking canes,clear hoses, measuring cups, hydrometers, thermometers, etc. so you keep bodily expossure to a minimum. UV radiation will burn your skin like a sunburn, the longer the exposure the worse the burn.

What about using UV light to sterilize (sanitize) those hard to reach areas of clear lines, cleaned and stored carboys or anything else that the light could reach. the food industry has been using them for years and I used them while breeding tropical...

bleach as sanitizer?

New to brewing, less than dozen batches. I have been reading the forums and books. Some of the books say that a very dilute solution of bleach (1.5 teaspoons per 5 gall of water) works well as a sanitizer as long as it is rinsed out well with hot water is fine. public school didn't fail me, thats where i learned to love beer! but aside from it going flat( I always take a taste after fermentation) how long would it take to oxidize the flavor?
