Fill it with PBW and let it soak for a while. Drain and refill. If the PBW water keeps coming out with a tint of green keep doing it. The only other thing that could help was if you could run some kind of brush through the chiller to aid in cleaning.

I am not sure who makes the kettle. I have ordered things from them before. Last time I ordered my stuff over the phone. You might call them and see if they have any info. Looks like a great pot Good Luck.

I was looking in to using foil covered bubble wrap on my mash tun. Also was looking at hot water heater insulation wrap kits. Bubble wrap seems better because it will not soak up spilled wort or water. And it can be removed easily for cleaning or to dry it out.

Beer Guns

Ok I have had enough of this natural carbonating my bottled beers. I have a kegging system and hate having to split up the beer to bottle some. Now the question is Blichmann beer gun or a more traditional style like more beer sells. Anyone using a beer gun please give me the pros and cons on your gu...

Well gave my pumpkin brew to a few trusted friends. They all have said the beer came out great. As often is the case with things of taste I am my own worst critic. Still will rerun the brew with the spice extract.

Spices

Next batch I plan on doing the spices will go in vodka for an extract. Then adding it before bottling or kegging. This will give me more flavor control. Also I think less hops.

Ginger in beers

OK I love Pumpkin Pies and all other pumpkin spiced items. I do not like the amber like base beers that most pumpkin beers are so i brewed. I did a pumpkin wheat beer with pumpkin and pie spices. Now the beer finished and racked to keg. I find that it has a little extra bitter after taste(not a hopp...

It is a step in the right direction. And a lot less than I spent on my hardware.

Thanks Bigdog. I have a pretty large back ground in fab work. I wish my beer back ground was as deep but time is on my side. This was a true build of passion for me. In the end it makes beer too what a great deal for me.
