Well used 6lb of the dry....OG actually ended up lower than expected @ 1.048 The farmhouse ale "wish they would add it to the database along with canadian 2-row" Is fermatating very slowly... Its active but on a slow gradual. Going to leave it another 5-7 days till FG drops lower..@ 1.017 ...

have 2 questions on Issue's 1-- Have a wyeast farmhouse ale i'd like to substitute 2 -- Is there a calculator to replace the 8lb's pale extract to a full grain equivilent ? Have enough extract to do, but find 8lb's on a 10 gallon batch plus the extra sugars and grain is going to blow the Air-locks s...

Going to be addind fresh spirment herb to a sour ale reciept....

Any idea's or thoughts on whether to dry it out? grind it up? or place whole and fresh????

Use/add it in the secondary and let sit another week,, There is no way to determine the sugar content of the prepared juice....Nor the outcome of the flavour to be added.. If you were to place it into the bottling state...you may get a "splash...of caps poppin" As for the qty of yeast left...

Custom made counter-flow fillers...

Sell them on the site if your interested...they take a cple bottles to get used too...but once you get the routine down......2 cases in 20 minuites capped..
carbonated..ready for chill'in.......

Personally all my lagers and "christmas" / "specialty" treats are placed into 3 gallon kegs, and kept under 9 psi co2.....

If you have kegs, than I'd transfer 2, and hold under a co2 charge till christmas.....

Fully dissaseble... soak in hot water, soak in baking soda, rinse again, soak in a strong pbw.. rince and have a look....
