I agree with this idea. While I don't make a bottle label for every single beer, I tend to do it for repeatable brews.

Any plans to fix the schedule on the print view?

Can the entire schedule table print out instead what happens now? Important data missing from the print view is mash thickness, final temp (to verify predictions), and available volume. The printout is how I get around dragging the laptop into the brewhouse and I'm getting tired of typing this data ...

I didn't catch this thread when it was active but I want to chime in to say that I agree. I know that the trick to finding out what the grainbed temp will be is to set collection vessel to "none" but I think it needs to be clear what temp it is actually talking about. Obviously the temp of...

If you are just recirculating and applying heat as necessary to hold temp for a sac rest, just set it as a sac rest and entire the duration you plan on. During a step mash where you want to go from one temp to another, add "direct heat" and set the target temp. Due to your calibration run,...

Watch this video first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wX9xuSQrfEM It doesn't get into the fly sparge yet but you need to setup your recipe including the desired final volume. Set your boiloff rate to something like 1.25 gal/hr for starters and then set your boil duration. This will determine how mu...

Bill, Thanks for the lengthy reply. I hear you about the time investment. I want to see the software thrive as much as you do and that's why I've been doing the video tutorials and pushing BTP at homebrewtalk. I think the biggest problem is that beersmith is slightly more intuitive for new users and...

Print Out content missing some key items

First, I'm shocked at how dead this forum is. Are there really that few users? Anyway, I'm hanging in there on BTP but one major annoyance so far has been the first runnings expected volume data point being missing from the printout. While I'd like to bring the laptop out to the brewery, it can't ha...

After all the defending I've been doing of the way BTP does efficiency, I will say that a preboil OG field on the analysis window would make life a little easier. It looks to me like BTP doesn't give much credence to mash/lauter efficiency but moreso to brewhouse. I'm OK with it because I just modif...

I think you need to be more clear as to what you're looking for. Brewhouse efficiency is calculated by entering an actual OG into the analysis tab. I do agree that it would be nice to have a field to enter actual preboil mash/lauter efficiency numbers so that you can assess your Mash/lauter efficien...

Schedule Section of Printout?

I think the schedule information can be better represented on the printout. I use this printout as my brewday guide so I don't have to drag my laptop outside. The info that prints is the same as what's exported to text/html as follows: 00:03:00 Dough In - Liquor: 4.0 gal; Strike: 165.56 °F; Target: ...

I finally got around to another BTP tutorial video. The audio quality is crap but you'll get the idea.

I don't know many brewers that are taking note of their mash efficiency (based on a sample initial runoff of the mash). That's probably why there's no place to enter it. Are you aware of any other software that does this? Most everyone cares about mash/lauter which is preboil efficiency and brewhous...
