Calibration query

This is a question on how to do a calibration run on the MLT when the heat source is a heat exchange coil in the HLT. Assuming that the water volume in the HLT vessel is stable, and has electric heat (5500watt hot water heater coil) and the volume of water in the MLT is say 10-15 gallons in a 20 MLT...

Re: beerxml export question

Jeff, Thanks I hope to start wiring this weekend and that will be one of my first tests. I may even try setting up my configuration files since I have most of the interfacing hardware, less valves already. No test runs , but maybe interface/update checks with the live Web interface check, recipe upl...

Re: beerxml export question

Jeff, I tried several searches last night and could not re-find the thread, sorry. In a couple of weeks I should have the control system wired up so I can do a test myself. I need to wire a 50 amp. 240 VAC circuit to my garage to power the whole unit, but my full system build out with new pots will ...

Re: beerxml export question

Jeff, Thanks for the time and support. I could not find the same thread at the site but the error reported was related to the conversion of the hops weight. I have attached two links below. The first is on my thread query at the BrewTroller site and the second is the only thread I could find. I will...

beerxml export question

Just curious if this now works well. I did a search on beerxml and saw nothing that confirms issues are fixed. My intended use is a recipe export to beerxml so I can import the recipe to my BeerTroller system I am building. Thanks, this has been my beer software of choice for quite a while and I tri...

BrewTroller calibration and programming from recipe

I decided to go down this path and hope to have my system built by March 2014. I will be using the Blichmann 20 gallon pots with electric heating in the HLT & BK. I am curious if anyone has done the system calibration runs with a similar set up (valves will be added later) and if there is an eas...

I have heard 0.039" before and have asked both of our local home brew suppliers what their grinders were set at. One was at 0.050" and the other did not know. I have been adding about 0.5 lb. of rice hulls to add some extra loft/fluff to my mash, but am now thinking of increasing that to 1...

Monster Mill gap setting?

Just put on order, no arrive date yet, the MM3-2 stainless unit (2" rollers) so will have to do the bin build out & platform for my Dewalt 1/2" drill. Anyway as a generic question what gap setting do you like for your mill?
Thanks in advance.

I ran accross a thread to a 1991 Zymergy article on water, 91-14?, that had recomended profiles for styles of beer and entered them into my BTP water profiles. I have been using them on the last three batches and we will see how that develops.

Elevation question on Schedule page

I am assuming that this is altitude. My question is apparently only meters can be entered as I have tried feet, f, F, ' and it would take none of these inputs (I am at 27 feet altitude).
Am I missing something?

I just spent 1 Mar. Sunday, about half a day, doing the calibration runs on all three of my vessels (all three are heated). They are heated by 165,000 btu high pressure propane burners with pressure at 15 psi. Gathering the data is not hard and I hope all goes well. I do have a question on calibrati...
