That's what lagering and decanting are all about, man. After about two weeks at room temp to carbonate, put them in a ~36F fridge and leave them for at least another two weeks (if not months). All that crap will compact on the bottom and you can decant your beautiful beer. Just don't let some shmoe ...

Multiple "My Ingredients"
How about having more than one "My Ingredients"? This may sound odd, but hear me out -- my LBHS does not have nearly the selection the BTP database has. I find myself comparing their website to the BTP ingredients to find the same or closest match when I'm building a recipe. Those, of cour...

Schedule Steps in the Database...?
Getting used to the new look and feel. I like it. I found myself reaching to the left database pane when it was time to put a mash schedule together. Am I crazy? What do you guys think of that idea? Just like dragging in a grain how about dragging in a step or even a whole schedule? Cheers, Charlie

Proxy Support
When I tried to connect to "My Beertools..." nothing happened - then I realized here at work we connect to the internet through a proxy server.
Can I make BTP "aware" of that path?
Cheers,
Charlie

This will help clarify your beer quickly. There will be plenty of yeast left to carbonate if you bottle condition (again, said without knowing the general health of the original yeast pitch).billd220 wrote:I'm curious what the benefit is of this procedure? Dont you need this yeast for carbonation?

Re: doing ok
First of all, congratulations! How fun is THAT?! Whatever happens with this beer, know that the hardest one is now behind you. OK, it's bubbling away and forming a "head" on the top (I don't know what you call it). It's called a krausen; I hope you can see it because you are fermenting in ...

I also recently have carbonation problems, and complete fermentation in 5 days (3 weeks in secondary and no gravity drop). Maybe this is because of high temp ferm (it is about 80F+ in my appartment...) Why are you doing a secondary? Unless you have a good reason, you may just be adding to your bact...
