Rockets

lol. I appreciate the response. I will deffinately look it up and probably go with a variation of your recipe for my next one. I went a little brew crazy with 4 batches for the first month in my brew career so I think I need to sit back, read, and drink and learn a bit more about what I have created...

too sour?

Akueck, Blackberry is one of my favorite flavorings as far as fruit goes. My paranoia, which I'm sure is uncalled for, is that sour fruits like Blackberries, raspberries, lemon/lime, etc... might be too sour for a deeper flavored beer like an amber or stout. Was your outcome still pretty sweet yet f...

Thank You

Thanks for the reply Sloth. Do you have any recommedations for the future on how I could compensate and give it a fuller body and still be able to use the maple? I couldnt really tell what the spots were about. They took up about a half inch of space above the main layer of sediment and formed debri...

headache

Well I tasted some last night when bottling and it tasted fine. Not as good as I expected. A little watered down. Woke up with a HUGE headache, but that was probably from the 13 shots of vodka and the other three beers I drank.

Maple Brown Problem - bottline tonight

I made a maple brown and kept it in primary fermentor for 2 weeks in a dark place. I moved to a secondary and kept it there for another week which is tonight. I just went to go bottle it and the sedement in the bottom looks normal but then above that layer of yeast and hops there is a whitish/blacki...

thanks

Thank You for the reply. That's also what a guy I work with said who brews. I guess it's better to play it safe the first time and work with a more common fruit. Eventually I hope to try something a little more unusual like Kiwi Banana and see how well that works.

Too Broad

Let me make this question a little more simple. If anyone could post on what type of fruits they have experienced with and what success or failures they have had it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Fruit Lambic... What about in the US?

This would be my fourth batch and I want to try just about anything. Id' like to try making a beer with real fruit or if I have to some extract from the brew store. I understand "Lambic" comes specifically from a 15 mile region in Belguim. First off what type of beer generally adapts the f...

Should I move to a 2nd Fermentor

I just started brewing for the first time and I am making a Maple Brown Ale. Once it hits midnight tonight it will be the 6th day in the fermentor. My recipe is as follows: 7 lb Malt Extract 1 lb Crystal Malt 1/8 lb Chocolate Malt 1/8 lb Special Roast 1/4 lb Honey Malt 1oz Progress Hops Pellets @ Bo...
