Thanks Guys
Thanks for the replies. I am looking for more info on what I would actually need to do with the wheat to prep it. I think to flake it I would have to soak the grains a little before squishing them, although I'm not sure. And I think if you heat and pop them then they would be torrified wheat. So if ...

From wheat field to my beer glass???

Not that the farmer is gong to like me taking some of his wheat, but he'll never notice. Do I simply need to dry it out or are there some other steps I will need to do??? An...

GRUIT
Has anyone here ever made gruit before???? For those who dont know what that is...its beer that uses certain psychotropic herbs for bittering instead of using hops. It therefore gives a slightly different "buzz" than just the beer alone. Anyhow, if someone has made it what was youe experie...

lambic update
I just took the lambic off the raspberries and racked it into another carboy for its final 4 weeks before bottling. It tastes pretty !@#$ good. Not very sour yet, but plenty of flavor.
Again, thanks Eric for the recipe.

beano...
i had read about the affect of beano in fermentation several times in BYO. So I brewed a dark brown wheat beer and used some of it and it finished at about 1.006. So according to the article, using the beano drastically reduces the amount of carbs and calories. I think it tastes very light for a dar...

I dont think...
Fitz, as long as he would take his own "clean" jar or whatever he is putting it in, I dont really think there is muych chance of any contamination if he is brewing that day or the next. The bacteria or any airborne stuff would not have much of a chance against those millions of yeast cells...

boiling hops more than 60 min
Is there any reason to not boil hops for more than 60 minutes. I think I remember a thread quite a while back that had to do with it, but cant seem to find it now.
