Those instructions sound like a lot of extra work. I've used US56 for my past three batches & all I've done is dump the packet into the carboy & pour the chilled wort on top. All three batches had activity within 6 hours or so. As far as fermentation temps, check out Fermentis' web site. The...

Bill, you don't need to buy the book.

Using Windows Explorer (or whatever the Apple equivalent is if that's what you're using) go to the directory you have BTP installed in. In that directory there is a subdirectory titled Help. Inside the Help directory there are a bunch of subdirectories corresponding to the categories you see when yo...

If that's the case it definitely looks like a good deal. $150 delivered compared to the 15G Minibrew conical that goes for around $300 on Ebay. I doubt the valves & parts needed to get it running would cost much.

My concern would be whether or not the plastic is food grade. Since it says "Biodeisel production" in the name I'd imagine it's not.

I think I know why it's not automatically adding the file extension. It's because BTP recognizes both .BTP & .XML as BTP files. When you first do "save as", it picks up the beer name you've entered in the recipe and adds the .BTP extension in the file name box (I guess as a default &qu...

BTP can be installed on a thumb drive, you just need to use your license key with each computer you attach it to.

Re: Feature Requests

Version number under beer tool pro in menu bar, first item about - I don't know if you're referencing the Mac version, but in the Windows version it's under Window->About Beer Tools Pro. I'm not sure why it's not under Help as it is in every other Windows program I've used (well, the ones I've noti...

How about a way to change all units in a recipe to or from metric/us instead of having to change each individual setting.. I just downloaded a recipe that has the volume in liters & gallons and the ingredients in kilograms.

Yeah, it's for portability. It's not an external hard drive, it's a 2GB thumb drive that can attach to a keychain. I have a few other programs (Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.) on it as well.
