Well.... maybe I've just had too much IPA, but I'm not inclined to think about it any further, at the moment, anyway. I brewed two batches today with my new system and both were spot on in terms of pre-boil volume (or at least close enough to where I couldn't see the error). I still don't like havin...

Are you sure your evaporation losses are set correctly? Rather than fudge with the temperatures so you can hit the volumes you are used to, adjust the evaporation rate up or down and see how that works with the actual temps. It's very possible that you're evaporating less (or more) than you think. ...

Yes, different.
When I change the temps in the edit window all to 211.6 (the max the program allows me due to my altitude), the Total Runoff displayed in the edit window matches the last Collected displayed in the Schedule window If I reduce the temps in the edit window, neither of these volumes change. If I under...

Maybe?
Hmmm... but if you look at my screenshot above, you'll see that the collected total is 7.06G, while the Kettle Vol @ 212 is 7.23. If I go through and change each step of the schedule to be 212

Volumes in schedule/batch -- confusion
I've been getting too much wort into my boil kettle, and I think it has to do with the connection between volume and temperature in the schedule. I'm pretty sure this is not a BTPro problem -- I think it's something I don't get. Preface -- I batch sparge and I have my schedule set up just like the r...

Re: Residual = dead space?
Yes. BTP calculates residual automatically using the dead space for the selected vessel, water absorption and collected runoff. If there is a field for residual volume in the editor panel, setting it to 0 implies that you desire to drain off all available volume. Hope this clears it up a little. Ye...

Residual = dead space?
I've been working on dialing my system in on BTPro. I just finished calibrating my mash tun, as well as measuring the dead space. Here's my question: does entering a value for dead space in my vessel description mean that my residual volumes should be 0 in the schedule? In other words: 1. Is residua...

"BeerTools" algorithm
Do you plan to add the "BeerTools" utilization available in the online version to BTPro? I've always assumed this was a proprietary algorithm you all derived from your own experimentation. Which of the more "standard" algorithms (e.g. Tinseth, Mosher, etc.) does it match most clo...

FAQ and/or instruction manual?
Hi, i'm relatively new to BeerTools. I've purchased the Gold membership and I'm enjoying the tools very much -- they're really helping me to hone my brewing! However, there are a few things I don't understand. I've searched the forum but haven't found answers. I'll list them below, but first, is the...
