ROFL, thanks for your reply. Well, if the wife leaves, I will have a bunch of beer to share with the local college girls, lol. Just joking. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Well, don't everyone start screaming at me, but all I had was some tequilla and I used that, soon after the "splashing" incident that has created this big crisis in my life. I hope I didn't mess up sharing shots of the Gold with the Amber. I think I'm gonna be alright, to tell you the trut...

Re: Air lock activity

You did not specify whether you are using plastic fermenters or Carboys for primary, so I assuming that it is plastic. I am using plastic as the primary and was considering going to 5 gal glass carboy as a secondary? You sound like a newbie, and when we first start this sometimes frustratiing hobby...

Sorry, I was sure I was posting a reply and not adding a new post. I really look like an amateur and I'm on the staff at another site, which has nothing to with beer. It won't happen again "Formerly we suffer from crimes, Today, we suffer from laws" Tacitus please don't ask who Tacitus is,...

Thanks

Thanks alot for your replies. I read them right away, but was too busy at the time to reply back. Things won't be so busy anymore. Anyway, I have one of the double barrell aerator valve and I think it didn't have enough water at first but wasn't empty. It was gurgling like a percolator and every onc...

Help Please

I don't know what I did wrong with my other post because nobody will help me, but I need to know what to do, my aerator isn't bouncing anymore, stopped in less than 24 hours. Should I take a sanitized spoon and stir it some more?

Made Mistake?

Hello, I read some of the past post to see if this was already posted, but couldn't find exactly the same situation. Without getting too technical about my ingreds and process, my aerator was going crazy the first night and the next day I started getting worried that it was going to run out of water...

Thanks

Thanks! Now I know why everyone uses plastic for beer. My friend got me set-up to make wine like he does, but I see now it's diff with beer. I will order one with a spigot right now, thanks again.

Yes

Thanks for your reply. I do have all of the tools you described. Are all plastic buckets created equal? I read to get food grade plastic, but what exactly is that? I was hoping that I didn't have to use a plastic bucket because I like to watch the fermentation at work (more fun than watching a fish ...

Newbie Question

Hello, I just got my first beer kit (ingredients) in the mail and the directions call for a 7 gallon fermenter. I have two 5 gallon glass Carboys, which I was told was what I needed, by a friend. Do I need to go buy a 7 gallon plastic fermenter, or can I alter the recipe or something. Thanks, I'm re...

Thanks again!

Thanks again, the kit is on the way (Brewers Best Altbier). I can't wait to get started. A friend of mine makes wine, and it is awesome! Plum wine is my favorite. I love watching the fermenting. To me, it's more enjoyable then watching the fish aquarium, rofl. He has wine stashed all over the !@#$ h...

Thanks Nate!

Thanks Man! That is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. Thanks for what kind of kit to get, as I didn't have a clue, since there are so many. I'm glad I got busy with T-ball and haven't ordered it yet, lol. If you have time and don't mind, I wouldn't mind that outline. Thanks, I will ...

Thanks for that link! I have been searching and reading all kinds of material but this is the best yet! I will be glad to share what I learn, once I learn something from experience, lol. How did your first batch turn out? Was it worth waiting for?

Thanks

Thanks Nate! Well, I was gonna run out and buy one of those propane Turkey cookers, I thought that would be a good idea and get hot enough. In addition, I have a huge plastic bowl and of course, the 2 5 gallon water bottles that has the hose's and stuff that run between the two. What do you think? I...
