Rager Hop Utilization

I just noticed that when using the Rager formula that ships w/ BT, the flame-out additions (or 0 min) still show 5.2% utilization. However, the real Rager formula has a zero utilization for said addition. I realize you can adjust it but I'm wondering why this is? thxs

Re: Gravity at Start of Boil

I just noticed the gravity at the start of boil on the printout. Really cool. It saves time having to do it myself. Could you put it onscreen as well? Sometimes I don't always printout. Thanks, Jamie. Where on the print-out - I don't see if for some reason?? Would also be nice to see the brix numbe...

Re: Fly Sparge

A Fly Sparge Schedule is nearly identical to a Batch Sparge Schedule for the Mash In and Saccharification Rest. You can then do the Mash Out, as an Infusiion step, as you would in the Batch Sparge or go right to the Separation, depending on your preferences. When you get to the Separation step, you...

Thanks for the info.

I added a Volume Adjustment. I noticed the "Net Volume" number on the screen but why doesn't the "Final Volume" figure change? Sounds silly to have to check your volumes in several different places, would be nice if you could key of one figure.

Kettle Volume and Vessel Deadspace - Fly Sparge

I'm a little confused on the following settings: 1) Dead Space - in particular, when setting up my Kettle. I like to leave about .5 gallon behind (trub/hops). So I set the "Dead Space" setting for my kettle (vessel) to .5. And when I set-up my sparge schedule (type = separation) and set th...

I just tried calibrating everything but the strike temp prediction is 15 degrees lower than what ProMash is computing. BTP is saying a stike temp of 172* while ProMash is saying 187* (that's the strike temp I used for my last batch and hit my temps perfectly). My Calibration parameters for the MT: A...

Newbie - Equipment and Mash help

Hi everyone, I just purchased BTP. I've been using ProMash for the last 5 or so years and decided to switch. Anyways, I'm hoping for some help on setting up my Equipment so that I can accurately predict my strike temp. I use a converted sanke keg with a false bottom (Sabco) for my MT and a sanke keg...
