Adjusting bittering hops.
I'm trying to create an accurate Sierra Nevada clone, but the recipe I have come up with is a little to bitter for my liking. I would like to tone the bitterness down, but I'm a little confused on which way to go. Do I not boil the bittering hops as long, or do I lower the amount of bittering hops b...

Hop Growing in Southern California
I know the next growing season is a long way off, but I would like to start growing my own hops. I live in Southern California where temperatures reach 100-110F in July and August. Is this too hot? I'm looking into growing Cascade and Perle, but I've heard that the Perle might be hard to grow due to...

Any issues with a Phil Mill
I'm thinking of purchasing a Phil Mill, but I haven't lookied into the other alternatives in the same price range. What are the pros and cons of this mill? Are there any mills that are better or same quality for less money? I don't want to break the bank, but I still want to be able to mill my own g...

It the newer sankey type.
It the newer sankey type. I figured it wouldn't work, so I'm thinking about cutting the top off and use it as a brew kettle. It is the 15.5 Gal type. Any suggestions on how to properly cut the top off? Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I have come across a commercial keg.
I have come across a commercial keg and I need some ideas on what to do with it. It has a couple of gallons left in it from a party that happened 2 years ago. A tenant of mine moved out and left it. I asked my local homebrew joint, but they gave me the lecture about it being the property of the comm...

Difference between grains
Can someone tell me what the difference is between a 2 row malt and a 6 row malt. I really want to get into buying bulk, but I need a little advise. I don't want to make a mistake when ordering such large quantities. I like Pale Ales... Any suggestions regarding ordering bulk?
Thanks,
Mike
