Kegs...where to start?
I have been thinking hard about switching to kegs. It seems to me that, once you are set up life is so much easier. Problem is, getting started. I have been shopping around and I see all kinds of equipment options; price, keg condition, full kit, build your own, type of kit/keg, ect. If I buy a non-...

My problem...I don't know how to make my own specialty malt. I am told that there is an article in a ...

Lager yeast activity ?
Hello again brain trust. Reciently (monday)I tried to make a lager; I sanitized properly, boiled the wort (extract), cooled it to 24c and pitched the yeast(wyeast). The date of packageing was november 18 for the yeast. The OG was 1.049 and I used 1 package of yeast. It has been 3 days and there has ...
RIMS
Ok, I've read alot of articles that mention the "RIMS" system but no one describes it. Could someone please?
Thought about that hmmm
I'm from Edmonton, the box sounds good. I thought about the heated box, a thermostat switch and light bulb/heater. Even a car block heater might be enough if it was well insulated.
Lagering?
Ok...I wan't to try a lager but I don't have a spare fridge; I live in northern Canada so it's too cold outside. My basement stays around 14 celsius, all the literature I have read says that lager yeast works between 2 and 15 c. 'Start at the high end and finish at the low end'. Can I just keep it a...

Now 10 days after pitching, it is still bubbling through the air lock about 4 or 5 times a minute. The OG was 1.052 so I used 2 packages of ye...
