I'm interesting in a Linux version as well. And I'd be happy to alpha/beta test BTP on my Debian desktop and Kubuntu laptop. I'm also interested to see if anyone has been able to get the Windows version of BTP up and running with CrossOver Office or vanilla WINE. I've gotten BTP to work with vanill...

No. I don't think you can pitch too much. Too little Yes, too much No.

I had no problems other than I had to click on check for updates in order for BTP to tell me there was an update.

Thanks for the links guys. I know that I've found a few sites on the Net that have some pretty reliable recipes. It's just that being a fairly new brewer it is difficult to find 'good' recipes on the beertools.com site. Don't get me wrong I'm glad to have the resource available, I just wish that the...

Re: Adding ingredients to Database

Hey, This'll probably sound lame, but I pretty much use Cooper's beer kits and malts and Northern Brewers to get my supplies and I know that not everyone does, but I'd sure like to see more info concerning Cooper's Malts and beer kits other than just the 4 unhopped malts listed in BeerTools. Also, ...

How many crap recipes are there on this site?

I notice that there are a crap load of recipes in this site (which can be a good thing). However as a new brewer it is extremely difficult to find "good" recipes on it. I try to sort by comments and that seems to help. What prevents a person who does not know crap about making a good beer ...

Also a lot depends on temperature. If your storage area is anything like my basement (65 F) then you will have to wait longer. My first two batches are just now starting to taste good and it's been almost 2 months.

So let me ask you guys a question then. During the boil when the hops is floating on the top with the rest, should I be skimming it off with my spoon?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I've only done 4 brews so far.

Thanks!
