I had this problem as well. If its the same as what was going on with me, do what Jeff says. Just open the file with msword and show the paragraph marks. Look in the notes section at the very bottom, chances are a character is in there that doesn't belong and just delete it. Mine was an arrow line r...

boil vessel dead space
I have a certain amount of wort that I am not able to extract from my boil vessel. I have tried to change the dead space on that vessel in BTP but I do not see where it has any affect on my water volumes. So far I have had to increase my evaporation loss to account for dead space in my boil vessel. ...

I'm no programmer, but after looking at these files in text form I think I may have found the problem. I am writing in as much detail as possible so hopefully the problem can be fixed. Did I mention I love Firefox, because that is how it was found, I opened the file using firefox and it directed me ...

Invalid XML. I have only had trouble since the new release version 1.0.19, but it may have been there before. I have a file with ingredients and some basic info only and it saves fine. When I then add in the schedule and totally tweak the session out for brew day with all the details I am able to sa...

did I lose this data?
Hi, have been using BTP for a few months now and have grown to really like the program. I have a folder for recipe's and sessions. I just today tried to access a session file that I had saved and it would not open. I get an error message that says "File could not be opened: Invalid XML file.&qu...

in search for an answer I came up with a somewhat crude solution. I opened a new blank recipe and put in enough 2-row malt to equal an OG equal to that of my actual recipe at the 5.25gal (or whatever your post-boil volume is). Then I change the final volume to my pre-boil volume with OUT Scaling. Th...

Preboil gravity readings
Fairly new to BTP and I can't figure out how to figure a couple things. I see where my original gravity and terminal gravity is calculated, but how can I find my pre-boil SG. Post mash I would like to take a gravity reading and figure out how close I will be to my OG after I boil off and cool to roo...

I have noticed something odd when I am messing around with my schedule for batch sparging (still haven't totally gotten a grasp on that). If I close the Separation window by pressing the OK button everything seems fine, but then if I want to go right back into the separation window my volume as well...
