Krausening v/s Spiesegabe

For my Eisbock batch should I Krausen or Spiese? I am thinking that Krausening is the way to go, but its all new to me. How do I formulate the amount I need? Should I store 10-20% of my original wort in the fridge to use later for the Krausening? If I do, when freezing (for Eisbock) how should I fig...

I have recently found craftsman of hand made copper kettles that, from what I have seen, are comparable in price to Polar if anyone is interested. ie.. 10g french style copper pot w/handle for $155.00. Copper in the Brew Pot...

I understand that adding a piece of copper to your brew pot adds minerals and/or nutrients to your wort that is helpfull for the yeast. Has anyone else heard this and if so does anyone actually do this?

Thinking....

-If I took my Bock recipe and made it a Weizenbock (Wheat-Bock) and used the Eisbock process, would I get a Weisbock? -How would the addition of so much malted wheat in to the mash affect it? When reading about Dopplebocks it said that you shouldn't add more then, something like, 10% of the base gra...

SCHOLARS is defunct

I contacted Steven Andrews of SCHOLARS and the club is no longer active. He didin't have enough responce from Homebrewers in the upstate so he moved on to new hobbies including flying. He sounded as if he gave up homebrewing completely... can you imagine that? I dont think I could ever give it up co...

I will say that I have been assured that Graywacke is probably one of the best choices. I even called Clemson and inquired about it... they are who refered me to the supplier I had mentioned earlier. It will swell under extremely high temperatures with little if any fracturing. I am sure some will e...
