Re: Setting Up A BIAB Mash Schedule Question

I finally had a some time to open your file and look at your settings. I think you're correct about how the value locks are applied and some manual adjustment is required. Working with your recipe, one addition I made is lock the total runoff field in the sparge editor. Then, to arrive at roughly 0....

Re: Pre-boil Volume

I believe my boil off was spot on so I'm assuming I ended up with less wort to the fermenter & more trub. In that case I would just subtract the difference from the volume adjustment you have set up for trub losses. Unfortunately, there is no automatic way to do this but the math is pretty simple. ...

Re: Pre-boil Volume

To narrow down where the loss is, do you know your chilled wort volume? Did it hit the predicted volume?

Re: Pre-boil Volume

Ah, ok. That changed total water to 31.16 L instead of 31.38 L. Not a huge difference, but a difference nonetheless :D

Re: Pre-boil Volume

I believe so. Of course, that's an estimate  Keep me posted on how close you come to your target. Even though this is a different recipe than you discussed earlier, it caused me to recall something else that could influence a discrepancy between our results. Under the calculations tab of the p...

Re: Pre-boil Volume

Thanks for the file, that helps. Kettle volume@100degC 26.96L Boil duration 1hr Water added @20degC 0.0L Evap/Hour @100degC 3.0L Final volume @20degC 23.0L Or when I open the schedule page, I see 25.94L in the collected column & in the In vessel column. So is my pre-boil 26.96L or 25.94L? I can't se...

Re: Pre-boil Volume

Sorry, I wasn't sure if you'd be able to find that in my profile. Since I want to avoid putting my email address here, perhaps you can open a ticket and attach your file here: https://www.beertools.com/support/

Re: Pre-boil Volume

I guess I should look at the actual recipe. One question I have is: are you using the kettle volume lock in your sparge settings? This helps overcome the volume differences caused by runoff and boiling temperatures. If you want to send me the recipe please use my email address in my profile.

Re: Pre-boil Volume

Hi, Crusty!

Are you referring to the temperature of the collected volume displayed in the editor window and the collected column in the schedule list?

Re: Original Gravity Extracts Analysis Adjustment

What data did you enter for the juice? Did you create it as an extract or adjunct? I know the program doesn't include this as an ingredient.

Re: Update Error

If you are running version 1.5.24 then you have the latest update for 1.5. The connection error occurs because the API server that version 1.5 attempts to access uses secure encryption not supported by the program. The program still functions but some online features no longer work. The last update ...

Re: Mash schedule calculator- start with cereal mash

I can see the problem you are having. I don't think there is a direct way to handle this procedure in the BeerTools Pro scheduling tool. So I guess the only thing that I can recommend for facilitating some of the temperature predictions is to create a separate recipe file for the cereal mash. I know...
