That helps, thanks Jeff. I already have an xml editor handy for doing just that.

Then it was my own. I think I got the values from you and entered them myself. Strange though.

I don't recall. I want to say it's from the internal DB.

Invalid XML File

I see what the problem is. It's in some of the descriptions of the ingredients database. In my case there was invalid character in my rice syrup solids description just before the word "provides."

Invalid XML File

Jeff,

I get this a LOT. I just rebuild one of my recipes and saved it over the weekend and today it won't open.

Is this a platform specific issue perhaps? I think it's worth looking into.

Basically then, I should only make beer in the winter since my only chance at chilling a carboy to those temps is by putting it in my garage. I don't have any type of spare fridge for that purpose. And time seems to be the second qualifying factor. Of course, we've been having such a mild winter thi...

I'm on my 3rd batch, I think were brewing the same thing. It's supposed to be an american pale ale. Started at 40 pts, after 3 days was only 20 pts. I did add another starter batch of yeast but it had little effect. Then. I just left it alone. Sure 'nuff, it got down to 12 pts. I'd make sure it's wa...

Chill Haze

I'm now enjoying what constitutes my 2nd batch of beer and I made a holiday Braggot. I love it! But, I put my crystal clear brown bottles of beer in the fridge and pulled out nicely chilled hazy ones. I know specifically I dropped the temperature from a full boil to 70 deg in under 30 minutes. What ...

This has probably been requested but to boost the request numbers.
BTP is a great recipe generator but I'd like to see a Batch Log attached to a recipe. It would track date, measurements, fermentation, notes, tasting notes, etc.

Mead

Ok, I realize that this is BEERtools and not Mead or WineTools but I have a question about the fermentability of Honey and attenuation. I've made meads and wine in the past and it's normal to have a FG less than 1.0 (Wines are usually .990). However, I cannot get BT to show a FG less than 1.00 unles...

ABW & ABV calculations

What equation are you using to determine these? The numbers I'm seeing in BT don't seem to jive with what I've been using.

I've been using the calculations found at http://www.realbeer.com/library/beerbre ... ak0301.php

Rice Syrup SOLIDS analysis

I'm trying to tweak kits I purchase and they often have Rice Syrup solids. Rice Syrup exists in the ingredients DB but what about solids? How do I get an analysis for solids into the DB? I know how to create a new item but where could I find the data? [Sorry, I just realized you had a sticky for new...
