Re: Database additions

Hi Jeff and all, Hops I'm finding more and more that a lot of Australian and Kiwi hops aren't to be seen here. Some of the bigger ones I'm thinking of are from Hop Products Australia (http://www.hops.com.au, a breeder in Victoria, Australia) and NZ Hops Ltd (http://www.nzhops.co.nz): examples includ...

Re: Progress on the new BeerTools Pro

I am pleased with how the new interface is shaping up. Some of the less important elements have been removed from the main window and made accessible through a "details" window. Also, many of the entry fields at the top of the recipe area of the main window can be concealed using a disclo...

Re: Progress on the new BeerTools Pro

Hi again, Just saw the screenshot in the "Re: Android Version" thread where Jeff posted a screenshot leak of the work-in-progress here: http://www.beertools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6242&p=25449#p25449 . When I saw it, I was a little disappointed that the workspace was still ...

Re: Progress on the new BeerTools Pro

Looking forward to seeing the new design. There are certainly rather annoying limitations to the current design/layout which makes editing/recipe development more difficult than it should be. It's more of a factor of BTP being built for a 4:3 screen aspect world, and everything has so quickly moved ...

Re: Android and the future?

I completely agree. I would pay $10+ for a fully fledged BeerToolsPro android app on my phone and tablet (including recipe editing, downloading recipes from BT website/BTP desktop software, and it would be good to use it to keep track of your supplies [it would be handy if you are in the local homeb...

Sorry for reviving a very old thread. I'm doing the same thing right now. 1. I've just calibrated a kettle (not as a heat source). Approx 47C water went to 42C when I put it in.. but this doesn't really matter, as I use immersion elements to heat water in here. So I heated my water (taking temperatu...

Why the hell is it in the wiki and not in the Software's help section? A GLOSSARY OF TERMS is absolutely essential to those who aren't maltsters or seasoned malt handlers. It doesnt have to be dicitonary.. just explanations of abbreviations, contractions, etc. e.g. DBFG (Dry Basis Fine Grind; this i...

Why not see if you can get a couple of extra developers on board who are willing to do it for the love of it, in order to get things moving faster? Even if they're also only part-time or spare-time developers, 4, 5, or 6 people working part time on something is much better than 1 or 2 (well, I guess...

Why not render the whole interface in SVG or some other vector scaling output so it draws to whatever screen size that the user has? That way it'll look great on every screen. You'll just have to avoid bitmaps.. and there are ways to use Adobe Illustrator to convert raster images to vector drawings,...

Something needs fixed. I had a hard drive meltdown, got a new computer, downloaded latest version. When I start BTP it asks for License Key and will not start without it. So I can't get into the program to click the magic button to go to the magic page to request the key. That is definitely one thi...
