I was lucky enough to get a used tall dorm fridge from a family member and have a question on its conversion. I have already removed all the shelves but now am wondering about the cooling tray at the top (where the ice cube tray would sit). The keg squeezes in but when I hook up the gas lines its to...

Continuing on with my first lager attempt...so far so good...However, now I transferred into the secondary which is a glass carboy and have it in the frige, the temp on the thermometer in the frige itself is 40 F but I have no way of knowing the temp of the brew in the glass carboy. 1st Lager
I just brewed my first lager yesterday and used California Lager Wyeast. The question is whether I was supposed to put the primary in the fridge at the get go or should I wait and let it ferment at a warmer temp for a week. The temp in the fridge is mid to high 50's. Any advice would be appreciated.
