Setting Up A BIAB Mash Schedule Question

It's been probably 7 or 8 years since I've set up equipment profiles and recipe templates, but I picked up an Anvil Foundry and am setting up a new recipe template (which is essentially brew-in-a-bag). My question here is specifically in regards to the Mash Schedule: I created a quick dummy recipe w...

Re: Cannot assign no style once a style has been chosen

Cool, thanks! Obviously not a huge deal, but figured I'd post it.

Cannot assign no style once a style has been chosen

After years of using BTP, just noticed this one: By default no BJCP style is selected in the recipe, but once you do select one (intentionally, or by accident) you cannot remove this. You can choose a different style from the list, but you cannot remove the style parameter altogether. Edit: I just w...

Re: How to Close a Recipe without Shutting Down the Program

I always start a new recipe with a template recipe, which includes all of my brew data (mash tun, boil kettle, brewhouse efficiency, boiloff, mash schedule, target volumes, etc.) so when I need to switch to a new blank recipe I just open that.

Re: Recipe amounts allowed to be negative numbers!

Exactly what I'm thinking... also, I've been using Bru'n Water for my pH prediction (in addition to the calculations), and hopefully by the time I brew this again I'll have a pH meter. Been dragging my feet on buying one, trying to decide between the Hach PocketPro+, Milwaukee 102 or the Thermoworks.

Re: Recipe amounts allowed to be negative numbers!

One of the reasons I love Vienna Lagers is the toasty malt flavor and dry finish, so that's always my prime focus. GL's Eliot Ness has the increased bitterness which I think compliments the style very well, although I don't target as high an ABV as theirs. Drinking one of these now; after a few week...

Cool, thank you! Will it also remember the sort order (name, style, etc.)?

Re: Recipe amounts allowed to be negative numbers!

When it comes to beer I tend to brew smaller / session beers, so I'm right there with you. My task this last year was to try to perfect my Vienna Lager... still working on it. Mostly dealing with the water now. I'd be very interested to hear the details of your experiences with the Vienna, since I'...

Re: Brewday / Hop Timers

I'm not "plugging the competition" I'm simply pointing out that they are very active in promoting and updating their software and you guys are not (it's been over a year since the timer discussion was started, for example), and you've lost out on a lot of market share as a result. My homebrew club h...

Re: Recipe amounts allowed to be negative numbers!

No, no beer this weekend. Every year I make a mead on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, for the following year's Thanksgiving supper. Yesterday I made a blackberry melomel (Vintner's Harvest blackberry wine base, plus water and honey to 24ºP, 10g of Cote de Blanc yeast). Just got done w/ the second d...
