Re: Print out selection

Jeff, Thanks for adding the printout selection feature - it's great! But is there any chance you'd be able to make it so the items you select to print (or not to print) can be set along with BTP's default settings? This way we won't have to keep deselecting the items we don't want to print. My than...

Re: Feature Requests

Thanks for all of your feature suggestions; we do read them. At this point bugs are the priority, and it seems that there are very few of them left. :D Your feature requests are noted, but it is not likely that any new features beyond the current set will be included in 1.5. We are currently workin...

Re: Decent Recipe sheet

What I would really like to see is a decent recipe sheet to print off. A one page sheet is much more user friendly than a 2 page sheet and might save the odd tree ;) Maybe the option to select what you want to print would be helpful, I don't know many brewers who on brewday work from their computer...

Thanks Slothrob

After using your walk through I am now able to use the mash schedule tool without any problems, even to the point of making up an 8 step mash schedule with a final batch sparge.
Thanks for clearing up my misconceptions.

Cheers

Nice Eric, thanks for taking the time to type all that out, I am going to sit down tonight and seriously go through your setup step by step. I will let you know tommorrow if it works out (I am sure it will).

Cheers

frustrated too

Not much help to you Bill. This is looking like an alarming trend, I too have thrown up my hands in frustration when it comes to using the mash scheldule tool. I can never seem to get past the mash in stage without weird numbers being thrown back at me. I have tried the new batch sparge schedule but...

Bill, here is a link to a malt supplier showing the specs for all their malts http://www.fawcett-maltsters.co.uk/specif.htm . As you can see, you can expect to extract some sugars from all the malts right done to the Black malt, however after reading you original post again the penny has dropped and...

Bill, any grains that you can steep and don't need to be mashed have already been converted ie. crystal malt, cara pils. The idea of steeping these grains is to extract the sugars from them which of course would affect your OG. The same applies if you put them in the mash, they are being steeped and...

Total water required?

I noticed on the printed recipe/brew sheet there is no "total water required" field.
I usually preheat my total water at the beginning of the brew day and knowing how much water I will use is pretty helpful.

cheers

Big Thanks to the BTP team for latest update

Just want to thank the BTP team for this latest update. Some fantastic new features and my mash schedule and equipement settings are now working perfectly. One of the nicest additions in my mind is the new "make Default" pop up screen that gives me the choice of numerous settings to save, ...

Re: Grain Absorption

I can't find a grain absorbtion field, your not refering to the "infusion rate" are you? Because that does not adjust the "grain absorbtion" rate. Grain absorption is set at 1.0 l/kg. This is about 0.48 qt/lb. So this is not adjustable Jeff? I would like to be able to set it at ...

How do you account for grain absorption in Beer Tools? If you are in the Schedule part of the program (as opposed to the strike calculator from the menu bar), you highlight the MashIn step, hit Edit (or double click), and a popup window appears in which you can edit the grain absorbtion. I can't fi...
