Smoked beer ingredient
I brewed a smoked beer. Unfortunatly, my smoked malt was lacking in enough smoke to add any flavor or aroma. what do you all think about adding liquid smoke in the secondary stage?

Another Apricot beer
Another good apricot beer is the duninen ? brewery's peach apricot wheat beer. It it brewed in a small brewery outside of Tampa Fl. It is like a Lay's potato chip, you just can't have just one.

Sorry for the delay on reply
Well It worked really well! the orange flavor was good. next time I would go with a single pack of koolaid. my friend tried the last of the keg and said it was some of the best "lawn mower beer" he has had in a while. Though I wouldn't try to compete with it, I sure didn't dump it out with...

The first rest was for glutein, the second was for conversion, the rest of the decoctions were to try and unstick the mash( our temp went below 130) all in all it was a fine beer and a learning experience. I am going to skip the glutein rest and keep my temp up with hot water during the recycle spar...

Using Kool-Aid
I am currently fermenting a Belgium Wit/ wheat ( don't ask they are two different yeasts split 'tween 10 gal of base). I plan on taking the wheat batch and adding two packs of unsweetened Kool-aid (orange) to the secondary to give it a little more orange zip. Wish me luck. Or tell me you already tri...

To decoct or not to decoct
I am beginning to move to more complex brews, and wanted to know? what is the advantage of decoction? will it add more flavor to my beer or is it just to raise my mash to the next rest level? I did a rye beer and had to decoct 4 times just to loosen the mash for sparge, what a nightmare! it did give...

A Tip for those of us still Bottling
When I bottle I have this problem with the flaps on the beer cases, until today. I took an old worn holy pair of tighty whities and cut the waist band off. LO and BEHOLD it fits around the case and holds the flaps back. it works on 24 and 20 bottle cases.Incedently I am a 38 waist.
