I had a flask (6l) break directly due to the concentrated heating of the element of an electric stove. I've since replaced the flask and the stove. The stove is still electric but now it's a glass top. No problems since. I've never had a problem with putting the hot flask into an ice bath. Of course...

Re: Moving My Ingredients data

It worked great. I copied over the directories and files I needed, and all is well. Thanks for the help.

Thanks,

Re: Moving My Ingredients data

Not a problem. I thought it was but wasn't sure. I'll assume that it's only a matter of moving that file and give it a try tonight or tomorrow (busy schedule). Anyhow I need to get this up and going again as I haven't brewed in nearly three weeks and need to get back to it. Taking Monday off to brew...

Re: Moving My Ingredients data

Let's just make that all of my data except for the recipes. Is there anything I can do so that I don't have re-enter all of this?

Moving My Ingredients data

I'm in the process of switching over to a new computer and I've been successful in upgrading to 1.5.5 and moving my recipes but how can I move My Ingredients? I'd hate to have to hand enter the whole thing.

Schedule values change if attenuation is changed

I don't know if this has been reported or not and it's somewhat minor, but while on the Schedule screen some values change if the Attenuation percentage is changed. The columns are the Final Temp, Available, and Collected, and the values switch to a percentage, a gravity, and a SRM value respectivel...

Re: clicking on recipe window

I tried this on my system and it worked fine. I left BTP full screen and put a smaller program window in front of it and I tried BTP in a smaller window behind another program in a smaller window. In both scenarios when I clicked on the BTP window it moved to the top. I can't seem to duplicate this ...

Re: All graining

So what is the typical efficiency? I started AG brewing about 1-1/2 yrs ago after using extracts for about a year. I initially got a solid 78% and was very pleased with that. I've recently (6 mos.) got myself a MM-3 Monster mill so that I could buy grain in bulk. I'm now getting a solid 90% efficien...

Priming carbonation rates

I'm not sure if this is a bug or just my lack of knowledge. I've been switching through several recipes looking at the amount of corn sugar to add to have a CO2 volume of 2.5 (just picked that value). At 68F with 5.0 gallons I would get 4.02, 4.11, 4.38, and 4.4 specifically for each recipe. For ins...

Re: Fermentation Schedule

Although I voted yes I would caveat that vote with that I wouldn't want to see this release held up for it. It would be nice fluff feature. If it were to come about I think it would also need a specific gravity field that might be tied back to the Analysis screen for the initial and final gravities.

Re: Temperature Control / Mash

It can't be easier. You add the step to the schedule, enter your target temp, and it tells you how much to boil.

I agree thus a part of why I quit. That and the fact the element burned out. Besides I prefer to do decoction and using Beertools Pro I can usually hit my target temp dead on.

Re: Temperature Control / Mash

The one thng not mentined is a heatstick. A homemade device consisting of a 120VAC hot water heater element on the end of a sink drain pipe wired into an exstention cord. There's a bit more to it than that so do a Web search for one if you're interested. Personally I stopped using one and just do de...
