Version 1.5 System Requirements

Post by jeff »

Changes to the user interface may require adjustments to minimum system requirements for running BTP. Screen resolution will likely be the parameter most affected.

Mine is actually 1680 x 1050. Not sure if that detailed info helps or frustrates, but .....

Looking forward to the new version and the improvements. 8)

Thanks for the details :D

Actually, we're interested in knowing how big we can make the BTP window without leaving too many people out. You are well within range, with some nice room to spare. 8)

Mine is 1280x1024, but I don't see a choice for that.

I would like to think I'm gonna be able to upgrade this year (that wouldn't be all that hard, relatively speaking), but I'm not sure today.

I'm at 1024x768 on my back up monitor.

Mine is 1280 x 800. Although I also think it would help to have a bigger window displaying more info at the same time, I also like the idea of the window not being too big so I can open several recipes and compare them side by side.

I currently use 2 computers that max out at 1024 x 768, so I voted that way, but it looks like I'll need to get a new computer within a few months and it would most like lt will be 1280 x 800.

Why not render the whole interface in SVG or some other vector scaling output so it draws to whatever screen size that the user has? That way it'll look great on every screen. You'll just have to avoid bitmaps.. and there are ways to use Adobe Illustrator to convert raster images to vector drawings, so if you need a few things converted - that is possible also (I could help here if necessary). If you had a general Vector display API, this would nail everything down from the start - then just vector scale it to fit any screen.

One choice not on the list is the native resolution of the 20" Apple Cinema Display, 1680 x 1050, which I what I have.

Is there any way around this? I’m using a netbook, 1024x600… the ingredients window will not resize making it impossible to use BeerTools on it! :x
