Yeast Cultures
Any tips on good books to get about yeast cultures. I would really like to get into it, but don't know where to start. Any tips would be great. Thanks.

By 'yeast cultures' I'll assume you mean how to
propogate yeast, as opposed to a book descibing
the different yeast varieties. Go to this web site:

Some guy (I'm assuming from Australia) wrote out a few
pages on how to make yeast slants. Wanting to cut the
cost of my own beer production I followed his
instructions. This is my first brew season using my
own 'cultivated' yeast and after about a half dozen batches
I've had nothing but success. I was able to locate
my tech supplies from a local med supplier (I use plastic
disposible tubes). I also used Wyeast 1056 as my starter.
My kid is a biotech grad and she guided me thru the
process (it really is simple to do after the first time).
Let me know if you try it, it adds another whole
dimension to brewing.

Best "readable" Yeast Culture Book...
The best yeast culturing book I am aware of that is in ENGLISH is by Pierre Rajotte and is available through most homebrew stores and websites. Here is an example from www.stpats.com:
Yeast Culturing, P. Rajotte, $23.00
The best and very thorough and very careful
step-by-step introduction.
