A very good idea it is. Thanks for suggesting it. Hopefully we will see a response soon from lathe or jeff.

We are definitely working on this...

Hi,

Thank you for your responses. We are working on a massive overhaul of the ingredients database and the related areas it covers.

You should see some changes very soon.

There's no "Marynka" - bittering hop.
Marynka & Lubelski (Lublin) are most popular hops in Poland.

All the Breferm Liquid and extract are missing. It's a major company in Europe.

Adding ingredients to Database

Post by BALuke »

Hey,

This'll probably sound lame, but I pretty much use Cooper's beer kits and malts and Northern Brewers to get my supplies and I know that not everyone does, but I'd sure like to see more info concerning Cooper's Malts and beer kits other than just the 4 unhopped malts listed in BeerTools.

Also, could any body out there please advise me where to look for good quality ingredients at lower prices than Northern Brewer with S&H that won't kill the pocketbook. Now I really like NB, but you can't always find what you're looking for in their products line. HELP!!

Have you tried http://www.austinhomebrew.com/
The $5.99 flat shipping is nice on bigger orders.

Golden Promise & GNO

Post by ColoradoBrewer »

I don't see Simpson's Golden Promise or Golden Naked Oats in the database. I think these would make more sense than having their distilling malt in there. I tried searching the web for the analysis of each so I could supply them, but didn't have any success. Anyone out there have that info?

Information from northcountrymalt.com

Golden Promise Details:

EXT CGDB Min% = 80.5
Fine Coarse Difference = 1 - 1.5
Moisture Max% = 3
Color ASBC = 2.1 - 3.0
D.P. Degrees Lintner = 40 - 50

Golden Naked Oats

I could not find any information on this.

Hope this helps!

You can find some info on Simpson's malts here.

And there's a little more info here on the Simpsons malts website.
