Just did my first attempt at home brewing, using the Brewer's Best European recipe.
All went well, and the taste is good, but unless I put the bottle in the fridge to get good and cold before opening it up, I have terrible foam over when I pop the bottetop. I store the beer at around 65-68 in my basement.
Fermentation (no secondary), OG, FG, etc. were all as expected per the recipe, and I don't detect any off odors or tastes (but what do I know -- I just know I think it tastes pretty good ), just the problem with the excessive foaming. The recipe says it should be ready to go after two weeks in the bottle, which is where I am now.
Any suggestions?
thx

Just Started brewing myself recently and had a similar problem. Listed as "Excessive carbonation" under "General" topics. Got a few replies and seemed to provide some information. Maybe they could help you out as well.
