HI Guys:
I just did a dumb thing. I had Just finished the rests for my all grain mash and began raising the temperature to 168*F to stop enzyme activity. While waiting for the temp. to rise I started to page through my BYO magazine and got carried away. When I checked the mash it had reached 200*F. Yeah thats right 200*F I dumped in a large quanity of ice cubes which quickly dropped the temp. I then finished the remaining brewing procedures and pitched the yeast. My question is, Did I ruin this batch of beer?
Thanks: Tom

You didn't with
You didn't with too high of wort temp, but you shouldn't put ice cubes in to cool it down. Once you get the enzyme activity finished too high of wort temp shouldn't be a concern
