Yes, in my endevors to cut costs and with rising propane prices, I am going to convert to Natural gas. I ordered and recieved a 170,000btu muti jet burner and I am considering a gas valve for it using an ignition system or standing pilot.
Any thoughts on which type is easier or contol options that are functional for beer making?

since you are Freon
Steve,
Since you picked freon 12 as a monikre, I have to assume you know HVAC stuff. That said, I hope the ignition system you are refering to is not an electronic igniter. Being in HVAC, I assume you know what a pain these things are, and how costly and unreliable they are.

Yep
You assume correctly.
I was considering an electronic or hot surface ignition system from a replaced furnace(free valve and initial parts) or boiler. It's all about the cheap and slick design.
Cost aside I was needing any other down side to it. I should just buy a fire place lighter and forget it!
