False bottoms

Post by dartedplus »

I can see how having a concave false bottom for your MLT would work nicely, but wouldn't you want a flat one for your kettle?? I almost have my MLT done, and I also wanted to put a false bottom in my kettle, but felt that I would rather have a flat one. Also, as the kettle boils, does it have the tendency to push the false bottom up or does the boiling liquid easily go through the screen??

That must mean it's wrong!

I found a fantastic false for the boil kettle at Morebeer.com(now don't jump on me for an honest plug)....If you call and talk to Regan he will make the size you want out of stainless with the correct perf., and ship it to your house!! How's that for a deal.

Right now I'm waiting on a quote from a company that makes the perf stainless, but once I find out what they want, I can compare it to others. Thanks Steve
