Yeast ???

Post by canman »

Can you make a decent ptchable yeast from the dry packets?? Liquid yeasts are impossible for me to get. Once again mail order costs to eastern canada is killer. Can I make my own from these very available yeast packets? I've also heard of making yeast from store bought beer (not that I have any, or remember what it tastes like) Thanks for anything

My postal code is B0P 1R0 in Nova Scotia. From what I can find so far I can't get this stuff to my door for less than $20 a pop!!! You should see how much I have to pay for grain!!!!OUCH

Can,
A good friend swears by dry yeast (www.happyjacks.org) and I've enjoyed many of his beers.
Cheers,
Ollie
