what to do if...

Post by hondo »

I am trying to make only my second brew, just a quick question on what to do if my starting gravity is more than the expected starting gravity?

Add Water?

Is your final volume correct for your recipe? If it's low, that could account for it... In general, though I would ignore it -- but you can reduce the specific gravity by adding water...

volume ok

the volume of my recipe is ok. It is 1060 when it should be 1053. I think I will ignore it for this batch, just wondering what would make it do this. I also checked the temp to adjust for calibration. Thank you for your comment Homebrew.
