Show grain % and hop proportion on printouts and export

Post by Kal »

I love BeerTools Pro - been using it for a couple of years now.

To make the export and print features more user friendly for others looking to use BeerTools Pro recipes that are posted or printed, the proportion information included in the main program should also be added to the PRINT and EXPORT.

Everyone's setup has different efficiencies and hop AA% varies from year to year, so showing (at the very minimum) grain % and hop IBU would be very beneficial.

Here's an example of how the printout or export looks today:

14.5 lb Pale Ale Malt
1 oz Magnum (14.4%) - added during boil, boiled 60.0 min

Here's an example of how the printout or export should look (IMHO):

14.5 lb Pale Ale Malt (77%, 1.037, 3 SRM)
1 oz Magnum (14.4%) - added during boil, boiled 60.0 min (14.3%, 22.47 IBU)

Thanks!

Bump!

Nobody else find that this would be a useful addition?

I agree 100%

Also, if the IBU's are listed the calculation formula also needs to be present on the export. (IE Rager, Tinseth, etc)

It would be useful but i'd rather have a choice on color calculations, mainly Morey.

I think it's a good idea. Additionally, it has been requested that percent based recipe formulation be implemented. Some prefer to create recipes using percentages rather than ingredient weights.

Yeah I always have to work around by scaling recipes but I always enter as a percentage then adjust volume till I hit the desired OG, then scale to my batch size.

Still would love the color calculation option too.

Kal great website you've got there. Couldn't be more timely since I'm planning on moving my HLT and mash tun over to electric. Still prefer gas for the boil.

Bump...

... this one up the list, especially the harder part of implementing % of grist part on recipe entry. Listing the % of grist in the export/print is likely a no brainer.
