Efficiency Calculation Question

New to AG and New BTP owner...........How do you calculate your efficiency with BTP? Im assuming its under the analysis tab by changing your OG??? But, from what I see that would be the post boil number......Isn't efficiency calculated at pre-boil?

Also anyone have equipment settings for a 10G rubbermaid round cooler with SS braid?

That's the easiest way to calculate efficiency.

You can also adjust the efficiency number in the main recipe window until your pre-boil-gravity (seen when you hover over the pre-boil volume) or post boil gravity match your measured value.

It doesn't matter if you measure mash efficiency pre-boil or post-boil, as long as you use the gravity and full volume at either point. You don't want to use the volume you have in your fermentor if you leave some liquid with the break material in your kettle, because then you are starting to add in your transfer efficiency.

After all: gravity pre-boil x volume pre-boil = gravity post-boil x volume post-boil.

Of course, if you manage to get all the liquid into the fermentor, it doesn't matter that it's now in there instead of the pot. You just need an accurate volume measure and an accurate gravity reading to get an accurate efficiency calculation, whenever and wherever you can get that.
