no hydrometer
Broke my hydrometer saturday night. I grabed a quart of wort and put it the fridge. I will not be able to get a new hydrometer till this friday (6 days after the brewing) Will this be a good reflection of my orginal gravity? Do I need to shake it? any ideas? Really would like to get an OG

broken hydrometer
As long as it's sanitary, it should last 6 days in the fridge. It wouldn't hurt to mix it up before you take the measurement, but it shouldn't matter. The important thing is to correct for the temperature, unless you warm it up to 60°F first.
After you take the measurement, you can freeze it away. Thaw it, re-boil it, to sterilize it, and you can use it for a starter.
