Thermometers?

I have a a handheld instant read thermometer and a floating thermometer that came in a kit. The floater is inaccurate, and the handheld unit is tricky to use in the HLT when the water is hot.

I want accuracy and convenience. What do you folks use that fits the bill?

Are the digital units worth the price?

Personally I use a lab thermometer.
