Keg Cleaners

Post by shaggyt »

Greetings all,

I just received my dual keg system from Keg Connection last night and while reading the cleaning instructions, there's a reference to Straight A. Now I've read in previous posts about using Oxyclean as an alternative to other cleaners out there...would this be on of those cases?

If so, what steps should be taken to ensure that the Oxyclean is as effective as Straight A? The instructions for Straight A call for a 45 minute soak using hot tap water, then rinse and sanitize.

I apologize for the repeat topic but my 17 month old is having a rough day so my time is limited...yikes!

oxyclean

Oxyclean isn't an exact swap for Straight A, but it should get the job done.

To get a close approximation of Straight A or Powder Brewery Wash, mix 2 parts "TSP Substitute" (available in the paint section of a hardware store) with 1 part Oxyclean. It's somewhat more effective and a bit more gentle on some metals than Oxyclean alone.

Oxyclean does a pretty good job on it's own, though.
