Help! Can't run BTP on Vista!

Post by datsmrscott »

Hi, got a new computer that is Vista based (yuck!). I can install the software, but it won't run. The application has administrator rights. Any ideas? I was successful in getting it to install and run on my old XP computer.

Hi!

Try uninstalling the app then re-installing into the PUBLIC folder in VISTA.

This may help!!

I assume that you have an adminstrator account on you machine?
If you are logged in as an admin then you should be able to run the app - you may be promted every time....

There is a program control (can't remember what it is called off the top of my head) that you can turn off and you are no longer prompted.

If you aren't logged in as an admin, then you should be able to run the probram as an admin.

Hummm...thought that would work....

Are you getting any error messages or any other messages and or prompts?

If so...what do they say exactly?

Thaks for the assistance!

OK. Even tried running in safe mode and still got the same error. When I try to launch, a window pops up that says "BeerToolsPro.exe has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have uninstalled the program, deleted the directories and files associated with BTP and reinstalled with the same results. Wierd! Usually there are more problems installing!
