Homemade yeast nutrients?
Is there any all natural homemade way to make a yeast nutrient for a batch of mead? Ive looked through all the threads and couldnt find anything on this subject.

Yeast Nutrients...
All of the yeast nutrients I'm aware of that homebrewers can get ARE "all-natural" ! They are simply trace elements combined with salts. The best one adds specially produced dead yeast to this premise and the results are spectacular (also "all-natural"). There are no "evil" compounds at work here... they are also elements our bodys need for growth and survival. For you to produce the same stuff would cost you more than buying it pre-prepared because of the minimum quantities of the elements and salts that can be bought. Stick with the pre-prepared products.

Don't tease, Mesa
What's "The best one"? Go ahead, brand names are okay.
So far I've used "Super Food" from Brewtek.

Servomyces
Sorry, I meant to put the name in, I just forgot. It's Servomyces made by Lallemand in Canada. Typically, their products are sold to homebrewers (primarily active dried yeast) under the name Danstar, although I don't know how it is packaged for home use because I've only gotten it in packets for 10 bbl. The stuff is incredibly effective in small amounts, it takes only 10 grams to be effective in 10 bbl. My cost on a 10 gram packet is about $ 8.00. So... that would mean for a 5 gallon batch, you'd only have to use .16 grams at a cost of $ .12 !
