Downloading a Recipe into BTP

Post by pmd428 »

Is it possible to down load a recipe from beertools.com into BTP software and if so how do I do it?

It took a bit of exploring for me to figure it out, and it's to the point that I'm not 100% sure I'm doing it correctly, but it does seem to work.

Step 1: Login to beertools.com and view the recipe you want; make sure you login with your user name and password, instead of just browsing as a guest.

Step 2: Click the "Add to Favorites/BeerTools Pro" link on the banner that displays just above the recipe name on the web page.

Step 3: Open the "Online" / "My Recipes" menu in BeerTools Pro on your computer.

Step 4: Type your beertools.com user name and password in the labelled fields, and click the Login button.

Step 5: Click the + symbol to open "My Favorite Recipes".

Step 6: Select the recipe from the list and then click the Load button at the bottom of the window.

Step 7: Now you can edit it, save it, print it, and brew!

Despite the number of steps, it's not really that complicated to do. Keep in mind that without the Gold membership, your number of downloads are pretty limited.
