Oaking a extract kit? Any thoughts.
I am brewing a Hefe with light toasted oak chips, in the second vessel is this a bad idea or should I roll on with it.

Oaked Weizen
I can't say I've ever had anything quite like an Oaked Weizen, but I had a lightly smoked Weizen this weekend, that I thought sounded terrible, but it was quite nice. I think the secret might be restraint on adding more complex flavors to an already complex beer like a Weizen.

You don't know until you try
This is a hobby man... some of our ideas work and some not so good. My advice is to make a scaled down version before going for full 5 or 10 gallons. That way you don't have as much invested if it doesn't turn out as desired.
