Should I grab a bigger fermenter?

I just finished bottling my latest batch of beer. I didn't have any problems with it. In fact, it seemed to go great. My question is...

Is it normal for a higher gravity beer to have a very high krausen? I ferment in a 6.5gallon bucket for primary, and I've never had a problem with it getting close to the lid. This time around, it actually touched the lid. Should I maybe get a 7gallon container for doing high gravity beers? If anyones interested in the recipe, I have it in the library under Saved by Dubbel. It's classified as a Dubbel since that's what it fit best as, but I've got no belgian ingredients or yeast whatsoever, so I'm not sure what it should be.

I usually use a blow-off hose (using a 6gal glass carboy) with bigger beers until the initial fermentation calms down. Then I'll put my stopper and airlock in.
