Help

What went wrong? Was this supposed to happen? Should I throw it out? What do I do now?

Ready to pitch????

Post by fitz »

I don't think there is a true ready to pitch liquid, you should always use a starter with them. Make sure you agitate, or oxygenate you wort well before pitching also. This helps with the propagation of the yeast, which will help fend off the bacterias, and wild yeast. There was a good yeast site on the web at one time. Probably still here somewhere, but I haven't been to it for a while. I think it may have been called Brewrats, anyway, it had a lot of info on yeasts. Williams brewing also has some info in their yeast section. Optimal temps aren't the same for all yeasts. Even in the same style.
