Magnum hops???
The guys at my local supply shop recommended Magnum hops (15.5% AA, with 25% cohumulone). They say the low cohumulone level produced a very mellow bittering, which allows you to use a little more that normal. The ibu calculations are off the chart with this hop (over 80ibu), although I'm told that is normal. Anyone have experience with cohumulone??? Any info appreciated.

Hop chemistry???
I have no real knowlege of hop chemistry, per se (except that I am a homebrewer), but I do have experience with Magnum. Magnum is a high alpha hop with noble hop parentage; Hallertau to be precise. The bittering is assertive, but not harsh like you can get with some of the other higher alpha hops (ie. Galena).
