Dry yeast for Scotch Ale

Postby jmorignot » Wed Aug 19, 2009 12:57 pm

Hey,

I'm to start a Scotch Ale batch, I would like to avoid having to make a starter with a Wyeast Scotch Ale yeast, is there any good Dry Yeast which could be a substitute?

Thanks,
J

There's no ideal dry yeast substitute for Scottish Ale Yeast. K-97, which is probably an Alt yeast, or US-05 are both clean enough to get you pretty close, if you aren't worried about exactly nailing the style.
