Brewing Beer with Kits
Hey Everyone,
I have come accross a recipe for an IPA that uses two kits, a John Bull Pale Ale and a Cooper's Bitter. There is also 2lbs of dry extract and some additional hops. I thought it was a great idea to use a pre-hopped kit in order to keep the amount of hops needed down, due to the recent high cost of them. However I was planning on changing out the extract for some grain in order to achieve a better beer. The problem is that beer tools does not recognise a kit as an option for liquid extract. My question is, how much hops are in a beer kit?
Thanks in advance.

A British Pale Ale is 30-50 IBU, a Bitter is 25-35 IBU.
Chances are, these kits are toward the bottom end of these ranges, so I'd say ~30-35 IBU's each (for their intended final volume) should be a reasonable guess.
